The late afternoon sun cast long, golden shadows across the training grounds of Konohagakure. Tenten, her usually sprightly movements a little more languid than usual, leaned against a worn wooden post, the scent of ozone and damp earth filling her senses. The air, usually alive with the clang of metal and the shouts of her comrades, was unusually quiet, save for the gentle rustling of leaves and the distant chirping of crickets.
